4. The benefits of joining the CCA
1. In 2012, the Infocomm Club was separated into the Tech Council and the Film and Media Club. The intent was to put related info-communication activities under one roof to create greater synergy and coordination. The mission of the new Club was to provide important services to the school, thereby supporting its strategic thrusts.

2. Infocomm Club aims to excite students about infocomm in a fun and meaningful way by helping them to learn new infocomm skills and to cultivate leadership and entrepreneurship capabilities. Moreover, the Tech Council will introduce basic IT fundamentals to students who are interested in entering the School of Infocomm Technology in Polytechnic. Students will gain a deep understanding of the technologies and information systems used in corporations and enterprises, and learn to design, integrate and manage processes and systems.

Students will also get the chance to design and program their own software and games.

The objectives of the Infocomm Clubs Programme are to:
  • Excite students about the possibilities of Infocomm in a fun way.
  • Equip students with relevant infocomm skills.
  • Provide students with opportunities to express creativity, entrepreneurship and community spirit.

3. Infocomm Club is open to anyone who is keen to embark in a journey of Infocomm Technology, Programming, IT Solutions, Game Making, etc.

A background in Programming is helpful. Basic computer knowledge is a must.

4. Through the clubs activities, students can appreciate technologies better, and creatively apply their skills to communicate ideas and use them in their school project work. The clubs can also be a supplementary resource for teachers to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

  • Opportunities for project work and community service projects, where the best will be showcased at various competitions and events
  • Potential credit exemptions/direct admission opportunities into IT courses of IHLs
