CCA General Info: 1. Brief introduction 2. Skills / Talents / Qualities the CCA is looking for 3. The benefits of joining the CCA | Established in 2000, the Guzheng Ensemble aims to nurture students musically and to arouse their interest in Chinese traditional music. It also acts as a platform for students to showcase their musical talents. Students will undergo musical development by learning from a professional instructor. All students will have a chance to appreciate music while developing the key life skills of discipline and teamwork, The ensemble has participated in many activities including the National Singapore Youth Festival, and school-based performances, namely, the Spring Festival, Racial Harmony Day and many more. The Guzheng Ensemble welcomes all students who would like to learn more about traditional Chinese music. We accept a wide range of students with different levels of competency including those who have prior trainings at the Primary School level. Students, without any form of musical background or skills are welcomed to join us. For as long as, they possess a deep passion and keen interest in music and a strong commitment to learn and attend all training sessions regularly. Students can look forward to develop their leadership skills and build a strong teamwork through student-led musical events. The CCA will inculcate a greater awareness and appreciation of the various aspects of Chinese traditional music in a time where Pop music is dominant. Students can also look forward to hone essential skills such as score-reading and instrument tuning. In addition, students will also be given opportunity to gain exposures and level up their confidence through outdoor performances. |
